Short-term, Solution-focused Sex Therapy

What is Short-Term, Solution-Focused Sex Therapy?

Sometimes a long course of open-ended therapy isn’t what people need. Many of my clients come in with a specific sexual concern, question, or goal—and they want clarity, tools, and a path forward. That’s where short-term, solution-focused sex therapy comes in.

This kind of therapy is designed to help you:

  • Define the issue clearly. We start by understanding what’s happening now and what change would feel like success for you.

  • Explore context. Together we look at your history, health, relationships, and stressors to see what may be shaping your current experience.

  • Build understanding and tools. I provide education, resources, and tailored strategies that are practical and evidence-informed.

  • Create a plan. You leave with a clear set of recommendations and supports—whether that means exercises to try, resources to use, or referrals for additional care if needed.

Why This Service Matters

Short-term sex therapy is structured and time-limited—often between 8-16 sessions—so you aren't signing up for years of therapy. It’s especially helpful for people navigating things like:

  • Changes in desire, arousal, or orgasm

  • Pain with sex

  • Impact of medical conditions, medications, or procedures on sexual wellbeing

  • Sexual identity or orientation questions

  • Navigating intimacy after trauma or life changes

  • Communication difficulties with a partner

The focus is always on making therapy useful, compassionate, and actionable. You’ll walk away not just with insight, but with a plan you can use in your daily life.
