A Bit About Me
Kira Keenan, LICSW, MEd
Hi, I’m Kira(she/her)—a sex therapist, clinical social worker, and educator with over 15 years of experience supporting people in building more connected, confident, and compassionate relationships with their bodies, identities, and intimate lives.
I specialize in working with people navigating sexual concerns, challenges associated with body changes, desire differences, out-of-control sexual behaviors, barriers to pleasure, orgasm, and intense shame. Whether you’re looking for support with sexual functioning, relational challenges, integrating kink, or reclaiming a sense of agency in your erotic life, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space grounded in science, consent, and professional care.
My approach blends evidence-based talk therapy modalities with somatic and body-based practices. I’ve developed a vocabulary and comfort in talking about sex that’s accurate, boundaried, and inclusive. I work to see and be curious about the internal worlds of each person I work with.
Over the years, I’ve led sexual health initiatives across both clinical and educational settings. As the Clinical Director at the Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health, I created a national sexual health training series for sex shop staff, toured colleges as a sex educator, and collaborated with organizations like Brown and Boston Universities to help train future medical providers to deliver patient-centered, inclusive sexual health care. Most recently, I led the Adult Gender and Sexuality Behavioral Health Clinic at Brown University Health, supervising a multidisciplinary team delivering award-winning, inclusive mental health care.
My solo practice, Kira Lee Sex Therapy, is just the beginning of a larger vision: a worker-owned cooperative offering high-quality, sliding-scale therapy that’s accessible across income levels. I’m especially interested in partnering with medical providers—PCPs, OB/GYNs, oncologists, urologists, and allied health professionals—who want trusted, evidence-based support for their patients’ sexual health and wellbeing.
If you’re looking for thoughtful, inclusive, and clinically grounded sex therapy—I’d love to connect.
